Ahmadiyya neither Forced nor Ordered to close Islam Information Booth in German Christmas Bazaar!

By Zubair Khan

“Muslims Forced to leave German Christmas Bazaar after setting Islam Information Booth”. This is the title given to news carried by Travellers Today and Index .hr as well in other media news outlet. However when Ahmadiyya authorities in Germany were contacted then emerged entirely different scenario. Permission for Islam information booth was properly obtained and booth established by Ahmadiyya. Few locals felt uneasy about it and complained to authorities. Similarly Muslims who are anti Ahmadiyya also criticised the establishment of booth.  Authorities declined to take the permission back due to freedom of religion prevailing in Germany and advised the people to show accommodation and tolerance.

Office bearers of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who enacted the booth, however by themselves opted to dismantle the booth in order to facilitate harmony and smooth sailing of Christmas Bazaar. This act of Ahmadiyya was applauded by all and every one appreciated the positive approach of Ahmadiyya to maintain the societal harmony.  However due to sensational attitude, few media outlets made a different story out of it and posed as Ahmadiyya has forcefully been evicted of German Christmas Bazaar.

Hopefully the above clarification and fair reporting of incident will facilitate removal of any negative thinking about Ahmadiyya.
