The “Deutschland Trend” poll for broadcaster ARD surveyed more than 1,000 people between Tuesday and Wednesday and asked what they thought about the proposal for Germany to ban full-body veils worn by Muslim women.
A little more than half (51 percent) of respondents said that they approved of having a general ban on burqas or niqabs in public, while about one-third were for a partial ban in public places like schools or public offices.
That means that in total, 81 percent were in favour of some form of ban on the burqa.
Meanwhile, 15 percent said they objected to a burqa ban as a matter of principle.
The German government is currently considering a restriction on burqas as part of measures to combat terrorism. Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière last week proposed a partial ban in public offices, schools, in court or other such places where showing one’s face “is necessary for our society’s coexistence”.
Chancellor Angela Merkel also criticized the apparel last week.
“From my point of view, a completely covered woman has almost no chance of integrating herself in Germany,” Merkel told Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland.
Teachers’ union German Education and Science Workers’ Union (GEW) said earlier this week that a ban in schools and universities in particular hurts women from conservative families and their educational opportunities.

This is journalistic trick. Put the burqa pictures of KSA and ask for ban in Germany. One does not see Muslim women wearing such burqa in Germany.
It is rare, but yes, you do. There have already been a number of discussions, once with a bank who refuses to allow a woman with burka to enter (rightly so), with a Kindergarten which had an issue because for one the children were afraid of the veil and two, the teachers there didn’t feel comfortable with allowing someone picking up a child without showing her face (in this case the issue got kind of solved by the mother having to go into a separate room to show off her face), just to give two examples how much the burqa clashes with German live. In a perfect world, there would be no need for a ban, because there would be a basic acceptance that German people tend to feel uncomfortable when they can’t see the faces of the people they encounter, just like there is a general acceptance that if you visit a “conservative country” it is bad taste to show off you skin. But the reality is that there have been more and more burqas, and the very limited ban on hiding your face is not enough for a lot of people.
It looks bit exaggeration. I also live in Germany for quarter of century. Visited many places. With hidden faces never saw a working Muslim woman in Germany. 3.5 millions Turkish live and no one hides face in Turkish tradition. Then is the Pakistani Ahmadiyya majority, these women also do not hide faces. Women from KSA or rich Arab countries need not to work in Germany. BTW which women are you referring.
I already gave you two examples…I could also add the mother and what I assume was her daughter the last time I watched a firework, or the pupil who tried to sue her school for the right to wear her veil. And yes, it won’t make a difference for the majority of immigrants anyway. But I would prefer to nip the idea that it is okay to hide your face and somehow racist of a bank or a school to expect to be able to see the face of their customers or pupils right in the bud.

Whereas, Saudi Arabia interpret Quran 33;59 with their own language, they are probably true.
Every country passes such rules which cannot be justified. But they do . Pakistani government declared ahmadies as non- Muslim . They don’t have any religious right . How many Muslim leaders, intellectuals , press& media and people even bother when ahmadiyya mosques are burnt , ahmadies are jailed because they were reciting the holy Quran , etc. ? Read and listen moulvies , and watch the Muslim reaction : even murder of ahmadi child does not open their eyes . Islamophobia in Europe and America is similar to ahmadiphobia of moulvies. Similar in the sence that they based on ignorance and lie. But there is difference in general reaction . American and European governments and public don’t follow the lie blindly , they do justice , they protect Muslims & mosques . Even they make human- chain for the safety of mosques . On the other hand , general general attitude of Muslims is hopeless .
The wearing of the hijab is one thing and a barque which covers everything and gives the wearer anonymity is another. Though I am an Ahmadi Muslim (non-Pakistani), I feel quite uncomfortable communicating with a ‘tent’!
Also, there are cultures where people who don’t make eye contact are considered untrustworthy. Another point is that some are hearing impaired and use facial expressions, lip movement and the limited hearing to communicate and this kind of covering is highly irritating.
Therefore, women who insist on covering up their faces, should take all of the above into consideration when interacting with the outside world.

FROM MY OBSERVATION OF ISLAM
Islamic teaching come from Allah al Quran) is a holy Islamic teaching and I am so amazed.It is beautiful teaching.1 This is a book We have sent down to you, so that you may deliver the people, with the will of their Lord, out of all sorts of darkness into the light, leading them to the path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy (1). Quran.14;1And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have Knowledge. QS 29; (43)
If you refuse to learn, you are hurting yourself. If you accept correction, you will become wiser. Proverb of Prophet Dawud.
Look at these verses;
He has chosen you and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion of Islam. Quran.22;78
Allah allows them as lawful what is good and prohibits them from what is bad Quran 7;157. It is very logic.
Base on these verses it is very clear that Islam is a flexible religion.
For example; Allah command His people to worship Him 5 times /day.
This commandment is obligation. Muslims can not quit even one time. But Allah does not intend to religion difficult, but make it flexible. Allah said; if you are in travel or you are sick, you can combine 2 shalats, you can shalat while you in bed etc.
Burqa or Hijab is not Islamic identity, but it is very clear that purpose to cover the whole body of women who live in desert is to prevent heat sand to harm human body, second reason is to prevent women from kidnapping by unknown man who live in desert. At ancient times often occurred conflict among tribes. there is no police at all,
These days, we can see police every street to protect all citizen.Women do not feel afraid of your safety when you walk outside of your house.

Most of Muslim around the world place their trust on Ancient Islamic clerics. As we know that Ancient Islamic clerics were lack of knowledge, they lived in the stone ages, All Allah’s verses were written on animal skin and stones. Can you imagine how people’s life?
These days we live in 21st Century, modern world, and technologi.
If Islamic clerics still follow the ancient interpretation of Islam, we Muslim still live in the stone ages. We, as Muslim can not compete other non Muslim in good way.
For example;
Because of hijab, women can not compete in olympic game.
Because of Hijab, many companies do not allow women wearing Hijab.
Because of hijab, many women can not swim at beach.
Because of hijab, many non Muslim are afraid of terrorist’s cloth.
WHEREAS Allah has warning His people; Do Not make your religion difficult.
Unfortunately only Islamic Clerics make religion difficult for his followers.
Does Ahmadiyyah’s Clerics make Islamic relgion difficult for Ahmadiyyah’s followers, as Saudi Arabia, Iran and ISIS ?

Ali Hidayah, please, stop telling us that hijab has nothing to do with Qur’anic directive, as it is though it gives a general description of it. So, as stated above by bro Zubair Khan with the reference from the Qur’an, most Muslim women cover according to their wishes.
This was NOT brought about for the Arabs of the time of the Holy Prophet (SAW), alone. Any injunction in the Holy Qur’an is for all times and climes.
Therefore, stop talking about it’s irrelevancy in the present times.
For your information, women are molested all over the world so don’t talk like a fanatic of western ways of life that it is the perfect way. It isn’t,
And if there was so much security for the average citizen in the West, why are there so many murders, rapes, etc.?
Since they believe in freedom in everything, then, they should also tolerate women who want to wear the hijab just as they tolerate the opposite, shouldn’t they?
Also, it is not just Muslim women who cover up. Most religions require their women to dress modestly in public. Do some research before picking on Muslims, please.

There are two reasons why women wear burqa:
1. In order women can not be abducted or be kidnapped by enemy for sex-slave.
2.In order women can not be harmed by storm sand.
If Allah send His laws in United State of America or Germany, I strongly believe that Allah would not ask women to cover her hair, hands and feet. Because there is no storm sand.and there are many police to protect women on the street etc.
It does not make sense at all, Allah ask women to cover her hands, feet and hair. ??
Islam is a religion of logical, Allah ask us to use our knowledge and brain, that is why Allah command His people to study knowledge to other countries.

I am not competent to present Ahmadiyya view point. As I read and interpret 33:59, O Prophet! (saw) tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers that they should draw close to them portions of their loose outer coverings. That is nearer that they may thus be distinguished and not molested. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.
According to my understanding, Burqa or Niqab has nothing to do with the Quranic interpretations. Ahmadi women from subcontinent veil themselves with burqa or Niqab due to local cultural traditions. Christians, Hindu and Sikh women also veil them accordingly. Afghan women veil them differently. Ahmadi women from, America, Africa, Eastern Europe, Turkey, Far East, Middle East and Europe veil themselves according to local culture. Main purpose is to cover themselves.
What I wanted to say the European press is playing cleverly. Take pictures of KSA or Afghan veiled women, print these as main heading and ask for ban. In Europe rarely such veils are seen. To me pulling down upon them of their outer cloaks from their heads over their faces should suffice. This is my personal understanding of veil.

There are many women do not wear Hijab, no one harm / hurt them, police will protect women.
Allah said in Quran as general guidance for us;
HE allows them as lawful what is good and prohibits them from what is bad (harm,hurt yourself or others); Quran 7:157.

ONLY ISLAMIC CLERICS MAKE HIS FOLLOWERS DIFFICULT TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD.

Most of extremist Muslim women do not like to join Olympic Game, because they do not want to show her hands, feet and hair in public place. Only few Liberal Muslim women join Olympic Games.
