During the Media Gathering on Saturday June 25th 2016 at iftaar party organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Indonesia, a young intellectual Muslim figure Zuhairi Misrawi from the country’s largest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) who is well known as “Gus Mis” said that Ahmadiyya has a long history of peace.

He said that, “Since it came in Indonesia in 1925 and gained its legal status in 1935 Ahmadiyya has absolutely no record in breaking rules or even its members have no record in doing crimes.”

He added, “Moreover, Ahmadiyya in Europe and USA are becoming the representative of Islam. Muslim Ahmadiyya commonly speak of condemnation and condolence following some bombing incidents conducted by Islamic extremists. Ahmadiyya there is the only representative of peaceful Islam.”

He deplored many journalists, inquired and got references from Anti-Ahmadiyya parties when they boomed Ahmadiyya news.

“I have a dream in future that Ahmadiyya perceptions will become references for many people, “ said Gusmis in front audience that was also attended by National Amir Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Indonesia, H Abdul Basith and General Secretary of AJI (Alliance of Journalists Indonesia), Arfi Bambani.
