The moment a peace protest in Turkey was rocked by a deadly blast

October 10, 2015: The moment a blast tore the ranks of a Turkish peace protest has been captured on camera by a shocked bystander.

The horrific moment an explosion rocked a peace rally in the Turkish capital of Ankara, killing at least 20, has been captured on video, representing the very violence the group was protesting.

At least 20 people can be seen in a big circle, holding hands and moving along as they chant for peace, when a loud blast behind the group suddenly erupts, shooting flames into the clear morning sky and causing instant mayhem as the shocked protesters run to safety.

The explosion was one of two near a train station, which have killed at least 20 and injured dozens.

Photos and video uploaded to social media show scenes of bloodied and injured bodies scattered along the road among debris, including peace flags and banners.

The blasts occurred around 10am local time.

The activists were gathering to protest the ongoing violent conflict between the Turkish government and Kurdish fighters in the country’s south-east.

The rally was reportedly organised by the Confederation of Public Sector Trades; Unions (KESK), reports AA.
