Myriam Francois-Cerrah (born Emilie François; 1983) is a British writer[1] and journalist.[2] Former assistant editor and features writer at Emel magazine (2008–2009), she interviewed feminist publisher Carmen Callil, Special Representative for the US Department of State Farah Pandith, academic Noam Chomsky, and artist Hassan Massoudy, among others.
Francois-Cerrah currently works as a freelance journalist, with her articles featured in The Guardian,[3] The Huffington Post,[4] New Statesman,[5] Your Middle East, The London Paper, Index on Censorship,[6] the F-Word[7] and the magazine Emel.[8]
A former actress, her screen career began at age 12 in Ang Lee‘s Sense and Sensibility (1995) in which she played Margaret Dashwood alongside Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet.[9][10] She went on to star in Paws (1997) alongside Nathan Cavaleri and Heath Ledger, and New Year’s Day (2000), in which she played Heather.[citation needed] In 2003, following extensive research into the faith, she became a Muslim.[11] She describes herself as both a feminist and a Muslim. She is a regular guest on BBC Big Questions (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011)[12] alongside Dame Ann Leslie, Beverly Knight, Rev. Peter Owen-Jones, et al. and Sunday Morning Live.
Francois-Cerrah was due to complete her PhD at Oxford University in Oriental Studies in 2013.[17]
She has an MA with honours in Middle East politics from Georgetown University, and a BA from Cambridge University in Social and Political science.
In 2003, at 21 years old, Francois-Cerrah embraced Islam after graduating from Cambridge. At the time, she was a skeptical Roman Catholic.
She said,
“The Qur’an was pivotal for me. I first tried to approach it in anger, as part of an attempt to prove my Muslim friend wrong. Later I began reading it with a more open mind. The opening of Al-Fatiha, with its address to the whole of mankind, psychologically stopped me in my tracks. It spoke of previous scriptures in a way which I both recognised, but also differed. It clarified many of the doubts I had about Christianity. It made me an adult as I suddenly realised that my destiny and my actions had consequences for which I alone would now be held responsible. In a world governed by relativism, it outlined objective moral truths and the foundation of morality. As someone who’d always had a keen interest in philosophy, the Qur’an felt like the culmination of all of this philosophical cogitation. It combined Kant, Hume, Sartre andAristotle. It somehow managed to address and answer the deep philosophical questions posed over centuries of human existence and answer its most fundamental one, ‘why are we here?'”[18]

Why are so many Women converting to Islam?
According to “The Almanac Book of Facts”, the population increased 137% within the past decade; Christianity increased 46%, while Islam increased 235%.
In a recent poll in the (US), 100,000 people per year in America alone, are converting to Islam. For every 1 male convert to Islam, 4 females convert to Islam, Why?

The question still remains, why are more women converting than men to Islam? Perhaps they realize their Soul is worth the Factual Research.
1. The Bible Convicts Women as the original Sinners, (i.e. Eve picking from the forbidden tree){Genesis 2:4-3:24}. The Quran Clarifies it was Adam Not Eve {Quran 7:19-25}
2. The Bible says, “The Birth of a Daughter is a loss” {Ecclesiasticus 22:3}. The Quran says both are an Equal Blessing {Quran 42:49}
3. The Bible Forbids Women from Speaking in church {I Corinthians 14:34-35}. The Quran says Women Can argue with the Prophet {58:1}
4. In the Bible, divorced Women are Labelled as an Adulteress, while men are not {Matthew 5:31-32}. The Quran does Not have Biblical double standards {Quran 30:21}
5. In The Bible, Widows and Sisters do Not Inherit Any Property or Wealth, Only men do {Numbers 27:1-11} The Quran Abolished this male greediness {Quran 4:22} and God Protects All.
6. The Bible Allows Multiple Wives {I Kings 11:3} In The Quran, God limits the number to 4 only under certain situations (no need to get permission from Wife’s) but Prefers you Marry Only One Wife {Quran 4:3} The Quran gives the Woman the Right to Choose who to Marry.
7. “If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives” {Deuteronomy 22:28-30}
One must ask a simple question here, who is really punished, the man who raped the woman or the woman who was raped? According to the Bible, you have to spend the Rest of Your Life with the man who Raped You.
The Prophet Muhammad Says {Volume 9, Book 86, Number 101} Narrated by Aisha:” It is essential to have the consent of a virgin (for the marriage)”.
Would the Christian men Reading this prefer the Women they know to Be Christian or Muslim?
8. The Bible also asks Women to wear veils as in Islam {I Corinthians 11:3-10}, this lowers the chance of rape, (God Forbid).
9. Women were given rights to Vote less than a 100 years ago in the (US), while the Quran (42:38) gave Women Voting rights almost 1,400 years ago.
10. Although Islam has unconfined Women and has given them the human right to reach for the sky without becoming ruler. But because of the misconception there have been Muslim Women Presidents through out the centuries, but to this date, the oppressive mentality of the men in the Western U.S.A. has stopped any Women from becoming Presidents in predominately Christian countries, while the Muslim countries have voted for and elected Female Presidents. How ever Quran clearly says that Men are protector and maintainer of women, which also leads us that only men can be ruler of a country (Al_Quran_004:034). Also, it was narrated that Abu Bakrah said: When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) heard that the people of Persia had appointed the daughter of Chosroes as their queen, he said, “No people will ever prosper who appoint a woman in charge of them.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4163.
