Qur’an lesson for today: 362. Commandment – Looking after the property of the orphans and the rules for their property usage

362. Commandment – Looking after the property of the orphans and the rules for their property usage

[4:3] And give to the orphans their property and exchange not the bad for the good, and devour not their property with your own. Surely, it is a great sin.

[4:7] And prove the orphans until they attain the age of marriage; then, if you find in them sound judgment, deliver to them their property; and devour it not in extravagance and haste against their growing up. And whoso is rich, let him abstain; and whoso is poor, let him eat thereof with equity. And when you deliver to them their property, then call witnesses in their presence. And Allah is sufficient as a Reckoner.

[6:153] ‘And approach not the property of the orphan, except in a way which is best, till he attains his maturity. And give full measure and weight with equity. We task not any soul except according to its capacity. And when you speak, observe justice, even if the concerned person be a relative, and fulfil the covenant of Allah. That is what He enjoins upon you, that you may remember.’

[17:35] And come not near the property of the orphan, except in the best way, until he attains his maturity, and fulfil the covenant; for the covenant shall be questioned about.

[18:83] ‘And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the town, and beneath it was a treasure belonging to them, and their father had been a righteous man, so thy Lord desired that they should reach their age of full strength and take out their treasure, as a mercy from thy Lord; and I did it not of my own accord. This is the explanation of that which thou wast not able to bear with patience.’

[89:20] And you devour the heritage of other people wholly, [89:21] And you love wealth with exceeding love.
