Pan African Ahmadiyya Muslim Association (PAAMA) organised Conference of World Religions on 15th November. The theme of the event was ‘How to promote Global Peace and Community Cohesion’. This event was also a part of the programmes of Interfaith week forum celebrations.

The event took place at Darulbarakaat Mosque Ahmadiyya Muslim Birmingham.

The aim of the event was to highlight the significance and need of peace throughout the world under current situation of unrest on the local and international scale.

The Lord Mayor Birmingham, Cllr. Shafique Shah attended the event and many people from various faiths and organisations including :- Sup Richard Baker (WMPolice, Claire Tabert (Stop Hate UK), Giani Jaspal Singh (Gurdawara Small heath), Lt Cdr Robert Jaffier (Royal Navy), Dr Yadar Umesh (Arya Samaj), Bishop Basil Richards (Church of God the Prophecy)Dave Whip Birmingham Bhudist, Rev Anderson Denis United Pentecostal Church, Arvinder Jain (Jainsm) and many more.

The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Ibrahim Bonsu followed by English translations by Ali Muhammad. Welcome address by the Paama President UK Mr Tommy Kallon sahib in his address he said…………………..

All the guests praised the great effort undertaken by Pan African Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is doing to bring community together and to promote peace.

Keynote Adress was delivered by Mr Rafiq Hayat National Amir AMA (UK) on the topic of how to promote Global Peace and Community Cohesion. In his speech he talked about the real teachings of Islam under the light of Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him). He also expressed the desperate need for peace in the world especially in regards to the threats posted by the ISIS to the local and international community level. He also talked about the concerns about the unlimited supply of weapons to ISIS by other nations. He urged everyone to start the process to create peace in your small circles which then may result into a global peace.

We as Ahmadiyya Muslims we are concerned when we hear that their some young people travelling from Countries like Britain to Syria to join ISIS and fight so called Jihad every one MUST take responsibilities he said”

The event ended with given presentation to all VVIP by the Mr Tommy Kallon sahib and President Paama UK and Mr Rafiq Hayat national President (AMA) UK.
