New bus ads in DC say the Qu’ran promotes Jew-hatred. It’s a meritless, dangerous accusation
The fiasco continues.
Islamophobes are fabricating the myth that Islam promotes Jew-hatred by taking out ads on D.C. buses. Take a look at the ad, linked above—does anyone else find it insane that these ignorant people are spending money promoting pictures of Adolf Hitler?
Now, certainly some Muslims are anti-Jewish, as are some Christians, agnostics, atheists—you get the idea. However, nothing in the Qur’an or in Prophet Muhammad’s example supports the myth of “Islamic Jew hatred.”

Most international communities, or non Muslim do not know Allah’s laws very well. They can misunderstand about Islam by looking what is happening in Middle East, Africa, and Asia,

They see and hear from international media that Muslim are killing Muslim, Muslim are killing innocent people, Muslim punish the blasphemy, the apostasy and the gay-lesbian. This is the fact, we can not say that those who kill innocent people, those who abducted 200 girls, those who shot Malala’s girl, are nothing to do with Islamic teaching. FROM AL QURAN.
Fight against those who believe not in Allâh, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Extremist Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. QS 9;29.

O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allâh is with those who are the Al-Muttaqûn QS 9;123..

The Quranic perspective is to do your best to avoid conflict and not get into a defensive war. Let me quote two more verses here:
And:
But, if you do get into a war, despite your best efforts to avoid it, then the Quranic message is that be well prepared for it and fight it well.
I have not known any army General tell their army to go out their, dance with the enemy soldiers, then lick their boots and surrender!
So, please do not expect the Holy Quran to say that.
But, the Holy Quran does say that if the enemy inclines towards peace, even if by the way of deceit, you should also incline towards peace:
The war and fight verses in the Quran are of two types.
1) Those that permit fighting when Muslims are attacked. In other words Quran permits fighting in self defense. Quran also sets limits of this defensive action and teaches forgiveness etc.
2) Then there are those verses which have been translated wrong. If you replace the word fight or kill in these verses with “strive”, suddenly these become very acceptable and logical. This translation will be correct according to Arabic lexicon.
Islam is not a pacifist religion. It permits fight in self defense with strict regulation. But mostly it is talking about making an effort or struggle to become a good person and establish a just and peaceful society.
This incident of a falsely fabricated ideology of ‘Islamic Jewish hatred’ stems from a lack of knowledge of the Holy Quran and the Traditions of the Holy Prophet (pbuh)-Sunnah. Our guidance is from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. If the perpetrators of this Bus ad would have read the Holy Quran, they would have come across a multitude of Prophets from Jacob (on him be peace), Joseph(on him be peace), Moses (on him be peace), David (on him be peace), Solomon (on him be peace), right up to Jesus (on him be peace). Their actions are used as examples of courage, fortitude and all the exemplary characters of a Prophet of Allah(Almighty God). One may have noted the words in brackets (on him be peace). Which shows the amount of respect we Muslims have for these Jewish Prophets. For one to claim to be a Muslim, one of the requirements of his faith is that he affirms and believes in all the Prophets of Allah(God Almighty), which include all the Prophets from the Jewish community and others.
One must no also forget, that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be on him), had a wife from the Jewish community! The example of our Beloved Holy Prophet was to foster Peace and to submit to Allah’s Will. He was the ultimate Diplomat and an example that all should emulate. One cannot stop the ‘ignorant’ from voicing their opinions. We can only try and remove their ‘ignorance’ and misunderstandings. We should constantly pray that all our words and actions will continuously foster Peace and Goodwill amongst all humanity irrespective of colour, creed, or race. The people of Jewish origin are our brothers just as each and every human on earth. As true Muslims, it is our duty to foster this universal love and in so doing work towards universal peace.
My suggestion to Qasim Rashid sahib in confronting Geert Wilders and Terrorists, it is necessary to highlight the meaning of the word “Kafir”.
Terry Jones and Geert had claimed that Quran is harsh book…
The reason is that in our Quran, we have translated the “Kafir” as a disbeliever (or non believer). That is a very gentle (mild) translation and gives chance to opponents to attack the Quran.
Any one who does not believe in Muhammad s.a.w.s. and is a peaceful person is not Kafir.
While the real meaning of Kafir is a fanatic disbeliever, a hostile, enemy type disbeliever. This is easily proved from the Quran.
If we translate the word “kafir” in the Quran as fanatic disbeliever then T.Jones and G.Wilders will not be able to raise any alarm. They could not have any objection.
At the moment they say “Quran teaches Muslims to kill the disbelievers…”, “Orders to break the neck of disbelievers”
There is another Arabic word “Wali” which is being used against us when translated as “friend”. There are verses which say that Muslims should not take Christians and Jews as their friends… (Wali).
The real meaning of Wali is guardian or supporter. Friend is only a derived meaning.
The verses should be translated as “The Muslims should not take the Jews and the Christians as their guradians…”
The Arabic word for friend is “Khaleel” not Wali.
My suggestion to Qasim Rashid sahib is to use the above meanings in support of his book.

Ghulam Sarwar, you are correct 100 percent—-we need to correct some translation in Holy Book that was printed by extremist Scholars from Saudi Arabia. They have been misguiding millions Mulim around the world, and a good chance to opponents to attact the Islam or Al Quran.

Not only that– Ghulam Sarwar–also we need to correct interpretation of some harsh verses like QS 9;5, QS 9:29 etc.as post above.

Kafir means a person firmly sticking to own negitive beliefs regarding religion, not accecting GODLY norms. No need going in lengthy details,as it cause confusion.

I add my voice in agreement with Ghulam Sarwar and Alatif that the problem is mistranslation of the Quran.
History shows that the best time for the Jews was when they were living under Muslim rule. What happened in Europe with the Jews was the doing of friends of Geert Wilder.
According to Tom Friedman of New York Times (A Jew) if Muslims were in charge of Europe in the 30s and 40s, there will be 6 millions extra Jews I the world.
