Members of the executive committee of the Ahmadiyyaa women wing in The Gambia Wednesday met the vice president and minister of Women’s Affairs, Her Excellency Aja Dr. Isatou Njie-Saidy at her office at State House.

The executive members were at the VP’s office to brief her on their activities and to present to her a letter of invitation for their forthcoming ‘Jalsa Salana’, which is scheduled to take place from 11th to 13th April, 2014.
Briefing the VP, the president of the wing, Musukebba Jarju, said the women arm is involved in a series of development activities in the country ranging from agriculture to education and skills training. She said young people are mainly the sole beneficiaries of all their activities, especially through trainings on religious values.
In the area of agriculture, Jarju informed that they are engaged in rice production and cashew cultivation, amongst others. “The wing has recently received a Millennium Award from The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) for exceptional support to borderline security personnel,” she informed the VP.
