Al’humdulillah, there are 250 Jamaat schools (6 nurseries, 53 secondary and 191 primary) and over 700 Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat mosques in Sierra Leone.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Sierra Leone will hold their 53rd Jalsa Salaana (Annual Convention) at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School in Bo, Sierra Leone, from 7-9 March 2014.
More than 15,000 Ahmadi Muslims from all over the country are expected to attend.
Last year, his excellency the President of Sierra Leone Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma as well as the national Amir (head) and missionary, Maulana Saeed ur Rahman gave speeches at the Jalsa. His excellency is expected again this year.
The Purpose of a Jalsa Salana is according to the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad:
“The primary purpose of this Convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits; They may enhance their knowledge and –due to their being blessed and enabled by Allah, The Exalted- their perception [ of Allah ] may progress. Among its secondary benefits is that this congregational meeting together will promote mutual introduction among all brothers, and it will strengthen the fraternal ties within this Community.” (Ishtihar 7 Dec. 1892, Majmoo`ah Ishtiharat Vol. I, Page 340).
