Dutch legislators discuss law banning religious offences

HAGUE – The Dutch opposition suggests an amendment to a law that bans offensive speaking against religion.

Dutch legislators are discussing whether or not to change a law that bans offensive speaking against religion as senators in the upper house of the Dutch parliament opposed the plan to amend the law in April.

  1. A very good move and will enhance the respect for the noble personalities of each religion. Derogatory remarks or acts against founder of each religions should also be banned.

  2. The dutch opposition is going on wrong tracks. The law which bans the use of offensive language against the top religious leaders should remain intact and should not be amneded.
    That would stop people like Geert Wilders in their track.
