A response to Geert Wilders

“Marked for Death: Islam’s War Against the West and Me,”

A Dutch parliamentarian and Islamophobe, Geert Wilders is the author of “Marked for death: Islam’s War Against the West and Me,” and producer of the widely- discredited documentary “Fitna,” which attempts to paint the Holy Qur’an as a violent book that incites to evil. Although his bigotry extends beyond Islam – in February, for example, his political party launched a website encouraging Dutch citizens to “report Eastern European [immigrants] for doing anything from ‘taking your parking spaces’ to ‘taking your jobs’” – his hate speech is directed primarily towards Islam.1 Later this year, Wilders plans to release “Fitna 2,” focusing on the Holy Prophet Muhammadsa

His principal criticism of Islam is that the Holy Qur’an incites to violence, extremism and aggression. Part I of this article takes a glance at his new book, and parts II and III address the verses he uses to criticize the Holy Qur’an,, revealing not only his dishonesty and extreme prejudice, but also his ignorance of actual Islamic beliefs………….

As a detailed refutation is planned for the near future, here we will look at just one – al- beit representative – example of Wilders’ deceitful approach to bashing Islam in his book.

  1. About a year ago, I had replied to the charges of Geert Wilders, about his ideas:

Wilder had presented abouut 10 verses showing that the book Quran teaches violence, killing of disbelievers…

I checked those verses of the Quran. All the verses had the word Kafir in them. I believe that a Kafir is an enemy of Islam; is an enemy of any faith. Kafir is not a peaceful person. Kafir is a hostile, fanatic disbeliever. The word Kafir is a technical (istilaahi) word. It has a meaning which has been fixed and made clear in the text.

There is no need to examine the meaning of Kafir in the dictionary. The diratives of the word “Kufr” can be many. But Kafir is special. A peaceful person of any faith is not Kafir and Islam does not harm any peaceful person. So Quran is not advocating the killing of any peaceful peson of any faith. All peaceful disbelievrs have no fear. They may continue to remain in their own faith peacefully.

I asked Geert Wilder ( on another catholic forum) to show me any harsh verse of the Quran without the word kafir. Nobody replied, because there is no such harsh verse.

A good example of Kafir in the Quran is the king Pharaoh of Egypt who used to kill the male infants of the children of Israel. Another example is Al-Shaitan who is mentioned as Kafir. In Muslim history, we have an example of Abu Jehl, and other polytheists (fighters), they were Kafir.

There is mention of believing Kafir too (in ch.3), i.e. the people who had the right teachings and they became violent enemies of the truth. There is also mention of those who increase in their enmity ( and plunder places of worship and graveyards…)
There is mention of the believers who become enemies (kafir) and remain as enemies till death.

Geert Wilders has no case against Islam or Quran. He wants to use religion for his political gain. That is the worse thing Geert can do to netherlanders.
