Maulana Ainul Yaqeen was ushered by Canadian High Commission diplomats to have a one-to-one conversation with the minister.
The Canadian foreign minister showed his delight at being able to meet a representative from the Ahmadiyya community in Malaysia. He spoke on the establishment of the “Office of Religious Freedom” that was recently set up in Canada. In the 5 minute conversation, Maulana Ainul Yaqeen expressed his gratitude at the Canadian government’s support for the Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Canada and for accepting the Ahmadi asylum seekers from Pakistan.
Maulana Ainul Yaqeen also showed and gave to the minister a photograph of him meeting, the worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, (Huzur Anwar) at the London Mosque in January this year.
At the same time Maulana Ainul Yaqeen also gave him a short memorandum with photographs concerning the obstacles which the Ahmadiyya community in Selangor state faces in conducting Jummah (Friday) prayers. After reading the memorandum, the minister promised to bring the matter up in his meeting with the Malaysian foreign minister that has been fixed for the next day. Maulana Ainul Yaqeen also managed to tell him that it is not impossible that what had happened to the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan and Indonesia might also happen in Malaysia if the opposition to the Jamaat is not stopped now.
Lastly, Maulana Ainul Yaqeen presented a book containing Huzur’s speech, The Path To Peace – Just Relations Between Nations, which Huzur had delivered at Capitol Hill, Washington D.C.
