Majority members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Germany have the right to vote. This fact is known to leading political parties of the nation.  As such these parties keep on exploring the opportunity to present their manifest to the  community members. On 15.09.2013, in the headquarter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Baitus Subuh Frankfurt,  came the state Hessen chiefs (SPD, CDU, FDP, GREEN and the DIE LINKE) to introduce the manifest of their respective parties.  Hundreds of Ahmadi Muslims gathered to listen to these party leaders. During the podium discussions many questions were asked to these leaders.  Below is the brief report which was published in a largely circulated news paper of Frankfurt the Frankfurter Rundschau.

A week before the Hesse state election on Sunday turned out a star-studded round of state politicians in a panel discussion before the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Bonames . The panelists listened to about 300 parishioners , the prayer room was filled to the last seat. Yasar Bilgin , an Executive Member of the Hesse CDU , something got on the subject of economic policy into swimming. He argued that the economy operates under its own rules, the policy should stay out of it as possible . On the other hand, contract workers should not be exploited . How this can be prevented , he left open . Even as a young member of community in the question and answer session following  the panel discussion , the CDU man fell a little convincing .

  1. Wise people learn from their own and others past experiences and the others forget what mistakes did they make in the past. We helped Bhuttos PPP in in 1971 and lost the sympathies of other political parties and what were the consequences ?

  2. @ AWZ Rana.
You are right for past experience. But here in Germany situation is different. Each leading party is provided opportunity to present its manifest. Thereafter members of community are free to vote to any party. There is favourite political party policy of the community. If you have some different information can share.

  3. Aaw I don’t think that by favoring ppp we lost d sympthy of other parties in Pakistan .cz d party we voted it’s own leader opened d padoras box by passing some rediculous laws against A M J here in UK memmbers vote for different parties in different regions & cities according to there manifestos so I don’t see any problem by doing d same in Germany. Just b careful&watchful of there policies etc.

  4. I think it’s better that all those political parties who’s manifest is acceptable for us
as a Jamaat or as a Muslim, we have good relation with all of them. As a Jamaat we should not stick to one party.

  5. Abdul waheed zafar rana, I don’t think it was that. PPP was the only party who was not looking to ban us from the outset so supporting them was the only option. Pakistan is a special case and is not comparable to western world in general.

Personally I think good people should be supported regardless of which party they belong to.

  6. These days many German Ahmadi Muslim Youngsters have also entered the political field. Surprisingly each party has such members. So no one is sticking to one party. Each has freedom to vote for the party he or she likes.

  7. What Zubair Khan sahib has written is the best policy. Jama’at Ahmadiayah Muslimah is not a politically motivated gathering. It is spiritual community.
Every Ahmadi should be free to vote for the German party of his/her choice. Germans are very wise people. In Hamburg area, I happened to be a guest in a house in Hamburg area. It was election time/ election day. There were only three persons in the house, an old couple and their young daughter.

After lunch, at the table, I asked the mother and the father as to whom they had voted for. The father replied, “Dear, we do not discuss such things in the house.”
It meant that they did not tell each other whom they had voted / supported. I was surprised. It meant there was no canvassing in the house. It meant there was complete harmony in the house about political matters.
I wish that Ahmadis do the same. They should not divulge their political inclinations. They should keep it to themselves. Ahmadis should follow the policy which is followed by the Jama’at internal elections. That is vote for the best person / people.

  8. What I said in few words, different people have put their ideas in their own words. I also meant to say that we should not stick to a particular party as a whole Jamaat. We should vote to a candidate or a party of our choice. If any of you remember, later on for 1976 election in Pakistan our Jamaat had also very wisely passed instructions to Jammat members that we should not go as whole for a particular political party, instead we should vote for the best person for Jam aati.
