Ahmad Dhani should marry widows of crash victims, says lawyer

Farhat Abbas, a lawyer who is known for controversial comments on his Twitter account, has continued to show his support for the victims of a fatal traffic accident that involved 13-year-old Abdul Qodir Jaelani, alias Dul, the youngest son of musician Ahmad Dhani.

In his latest Twitter comments, Farhat said it would be fair for the victims and family members only if Dhani married the widows of the victims that died in the accident.

“I’m concerned about Dhani’s intentions and promises to help finance the education of the victims’ children. I will only trust him if he marries their mothers,” he said on his Twitter account, @farhatabbaslaw, posted at 6:27 p.m. on Monday.

“The fairest sentence for Dhani is to marry all of the widows of the deceased victims. This is about people’s lives and the future of their children,” he said in another Twitter comment posted at 6:29 p.m.

Dul was involved in a deadly pile-up on kilometer 8 of the Jagorawi toll road, early on Sunday. The Jakarta Police named Dul a suspect in the accident.

Farhat also criticized Dhani’s recent statement blaming the state – in this regard state-owned highway operator PT Jasa Marga – for not reporting to the police when the underage driver entered the toll gate. Dhani made the statement during an interview aired by TVOne, on Monday evening.

“Dhani tried to escape the problem by blaming the state for the accident,” Farhat said on Twitter at 6:03 p.m. on Monday. (hrl/ebf)
