Sunni and Shia Muslims are killing each other in several nations, most notably in Syria’s escalating civil war.

Coptic Christians churches are being torched in Egypt.

In Israel, what passes for peace talks has restarted after years of murder and brutality.

Religion is a common thread in each conflict. But why? Don’t these folks worship the same deity?

After all, Jews, Christians and Muslims all trace their faiths back to a fellow named Abraham, whom they all claim was chosen for special treatment by the Almighty. Why can’t they all get along?

  1. It could be said that Jews and Muslims worship the same God, but I say we don’t worship the same god as the Christians, because they believe in a trinitarian god – that Jesus, the Holy Spirit and ‘The Father’ are three persons or beings in one.
Such a definition of Allah cannot be reconciled with Islam which teaches God is One, Indivisible, Unique, without compare or companions, there is nothing and no one like Him.
One means one. It’s the maths test needed to enter Jannah – that you can count to one. How merciful is Allah.
It could be said we all originate from the prophetic tradition of Abraham (peace be on him), but that the Christians have gone astray, while the Jews refuse to accept God’s last and greatest prophet, Muhammad, peace, blessings, and mercy be on him.
So we Muslims are the true followers of Jesus, peace be unto him, not the Christians. We worship God like Jesus, a Jew, worshiped him. We follow and believe in Jesus as a prophet just as we follow and believe in all the prophets who have been sent in a single line by God.
The ones who obey follow the prophets. So it can be said that the Jews have also gone astray because they will not accept Jesus as the Messiah and Muhammad (peace be unto him) as Allah’s final and greatest messenger. So they worship instead their own cleverness and orthodoxy – man-made, attempted changes to God’s sharia.
However, Jews who believed in the time before Jesus are also Muslims and Jesus’s followers, the Nazarenes, before Muhammad (peace be on him) were also true Muslims – people who submitted to Allah and his prophets.
We do believe in the same God as them.

  2. The Jews and Muslims believe in ONE GOD. The Christians have been very much misled into Trinity (A Triune God). The Christians have been misled on many points, away from the real teachings of Jesus a.s. and Trinity is just one such point.

As far as I know, the Trinity was derived from a verse in the chapter 28 of Mathew where it is said,

“18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The words “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” were only to baptize people and bring them close to God. Baptizing in the name of the father (God Almighty) and the son (Jesus) and the holy Spirit (Angel Gabriel) is perfectly right way to do it.
The followers were to preach in the name of Father, the son and Holy Spirit. That is all correct and necessary. When they will preach in the name of the Father and they will guide people with new knowledge, people may ask who told them all those things, they have to mention the son i.e. Jesus and also the messenger angel who brought the new teaching to the son. That was all perfectly right way to do things. Holy Spirit was always with Jesus aiding and helping him, guiding him.

No where in the above quoted verses of Mathew there is any indication (or order) from Jesus that followers should make a god out of the son and holy spirit. That was the major mistake of the church. Jesus himself spent all his life worshiping and praising One God. He never thought or taught three gods. Read the whole new testament. We will not find any word about three gods or Triune god.

So all Christians have to be very careful about what they read and what they are being taught.

We Muslims have a similar thing. Our Kalima is “There is no God except Allah and Muhammad is His messenger.” Here the name of Muhammad is permanently attached with the God Almighty as his (servant and) messenger. The name of Muhammad must be mentioned in bringing people into the fold of Islam.

Similarly, the Christians must use the name of Jesus in bringing people close to God Almighty. But they should not make Jesus as a god beside the father (The God Almighty). That would be a great sin according to the Jewish teachings and according to the Islamic teachings. Jesus only told followers to preach in his name. He did not say that he should be made a god alongside the God Almighty.

Now the church is in much trouble and cannot explain Trinity. It is their self created problem. They believe in One God and three gods. And Jesus as a man and as a god at the same time. It is quite complicated.
