Scientists are reaching stars and galaxies beyond ours and with unbelieveable accuracy by using solar and lunar phases, originally used by the early Muslims, but Mullahs are in the dark by not following the modern day developements to aid them in their quest to sight the moon. What a pity, especially when the Holy Prophet had said to seek knowledge even if you have to go to China.
Facilities are available to calculate the precise times when in any particular place moon can be sighted, barring the bad weather.
