If the issue has been widely debated, the fact remains that the incidence of rape in India is increasing. According to statistics, a woman is raped every two hours in India. If Jyoti Singh – young woman of 23 years inhumanly raped in a bus by a group of four men ( Delhi Gang Rape ) – relayed by the international press, resulted in numerous events and encouraged many women to raise their voices to condemn these barbaric acts and another time.
The major question that arises today the Indian people is whether Indian cinema – Bollywood industry – would it not responsible for this increase in rapes. If several famous actors of Indian cinema have expressed their sadness, shame and consternation regarding this incident, it is clear that even several months after the case, nothing seems to work out.
Cinema, Indian Culture and Sexuality
The movie is for the Indian people, a religion in which they are supposed to see the reflection of their own culture, values and tradition. However, for several years, a phenomenon of modernization key Indian cinema tends to copy Western culture, as reflected in the famous Hollywood movie industry.

This is probably very true considering that the Indian public is movie crazy. Therefore, the movie makers should exercise caution regarding what they portray.
Since the past couple of decades, they have become more and more westernized and one can find little difference in the movies they make from what comes out of Hollywood. There is too much promiscuity, leniency towards it and explicit content. It’s quite disgusting.
Most Bollywood movies definitely do not represent Indian culture and their dances not at all. They have ended up glorifying all the bad practices of Hollywood.
It might be a good idea to try and improve the situation in India by making movies that will help change the attitude of the Bollywood crazy masses.
The disgusting trend not only in Bollywood, all movie industries in India do the same.. especially vulgarity and filth in extreme level in Telugu and Kannada movies.. it is really shame on them, still not learned the lessons..
