Just another day in occupied Palestine: Settlers, soldiers attack Hebron-area village

Some 40 Israeli settlers, many of them armed, invaded the Hebron-area village of Sair at 11pm Thursday night. The settlers opened fire in the village and attacked local homes in the Beit Aynoun section of Sair, shattering windows of the Jihad Ja’bari home. Rumours circulated that the settlers entered the village following the shooting at a settler-driven car nearby, although the settler-affiliated press has no reports of such an incident.

Israeli soldiers subsequently entered Sair and began conducting house to house searches in the area. Soldiers used explosives to blow off the doors of three homes, where owners did not open quickly enough.

Four young Palestinians were arrested from their homes.

The soldiers left Sair at 3am Friday morning.

Sair is the home town of Palestinian martyr Arafat Jaradat, who died on 23 February following interrogation in Israeli custody.
