WASHINGTON: Tech services companies with a strong India base snagged nearly a third of the H-1B skilled guest worker visas approved in 2012, giving fresh ammunition to critics of the programme who say it is depriving Americans of much needed jobs.
New data from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services show that the top 12 companies which bagged more than 40,000 of the 134,740 H-1B visas approved in 2012 all had a strong India presence.
