Pakistan welcomes Kerry’s nomination as next US Secretary of State

WASHINGTON: As President Barack Obama announced his nomination of Senator John Kerry as the next Secretary of State, Pakistan welcomed the prospect of working with a friendly face.

“We welcome news of the nomination of Senator John F Kerry as the next US Secretary of State. Senator Kerry is a man of towering stature and accomplishments, having served the United States with great vigor and distinction,” Pakistan’s ambassador to US Sherry Rehman said in a statement.

“Senator Kerry has demonstrated through the years an extraordinary understanding of the complexities of South and Central Asia.

  1. Though he is considered pro Pakistani but now he is State Secretry of USA and aught to prefer the US National interests. Those expressing wishful thinking should keep this point in mind.
