National Ijtema Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya  Mauritius 2012

The National Ijtema of the Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya of Mauritius was held over the last three days (21st to 23rd September 2012). This year, the KUA Mauritius has innovated and decided to go onto international standards. Their National Ijtema was organized on the same pattern as countries like the UK, USA or Canada, where there are much more Sports and Literary Competitions than other programs. This new formula Alhamdolillah worked well.

The Khuddam of Mauritius were divided into 4 groups of around 100 members : Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali. The Khuddam welcomed these changes very well and the presence on Friday soared to a figure of around 300 Khuddam in the Darus Salaam Mosque. There was a lively Question and Answer on that night and all competitions ended at around 10:30 pm. A Blood Donation was also held earlier that day and around 75 pints of blood was received. On Saturday, the Ijtima moved at Saint Esprit College for the competitions and the evening session. The Football tournament was the main attraction.

Again all went well in a spirit of fairplay and brotherhood. This session culminated in a Barbecue. At night there was an Impromptu Speech Competition followed by a Quiz involving all khuddam. The session ended by a great WaqareAmal of the site where all the Khuddam ‘hunted’ any waste or garbage that was left behind after that great day. The Sunday’s Session mainly consisted of the Sadr’s speech and that of the Amir Saheb.

The Prize Giving was unusually long, so many competitions there were! The Best Majlis of the Year Award went to the Majlis of Triolet. A special ceremony was held in between the programme that day for a khaddim named Muhammad Saad Nabbebaccus as he had received the Mauritian Highest Award at the Higher School level and he has been rank first among all the laureates of Mauritius.

This session ended with a succulent Briani, followed by Namaz Zohr/Asr and a final WaqareAmal of the mosque.
