SuaraJabar.id – A total of 1,500 young people attended the Ahmadiyah Youth Camp in West Java. The event received a thumbs up from Gugun Gumilar , Special Staff to the Minister of Religious Affairs , who highlighted the importance of providing a platform for character building and discipline for the next generation.
According to Gugun, the challenge for today’s youth is not just to broaden their knowledge, but also to hone their social awareness within society.
“Young people not only need knowledge, but also need space to develop discipline and awareness,” Gugun emphasized on Wednesday (26/8/2026).
He sees that character building needs to be done through various approaches, including positive habits that are carried out consistently.
According to Gugun, this activity can also be a means for participants to build relationships, exchange experiences, and broaden their perspectives.
“What’s interesting about activities like this is the process of encounter. Young people meet their friends, learn together, discuss things, and gain new experiences. Things like this will shape how they see themselves and their environment,” he said.
Gugun hopes that the enthusiasm built during the Youth Camp can be continued by participants in their daily lives.

“I hope the learnings gained during this activity don’t stop here. The values of discipline, responsibility, caring, and a passion for good deeds can be carried into their respective communities,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tarbiyat PB Ahmadiyah, Mubarak Ahmad Kamil, said that the Youth Camp was designed not only as a gathering activity, but also as a space for character building and self-development of the younger generation.

One of the matrials emphasized is how participants build awareness to know God through a process of reflection on life and the surrounding environment.
Kamil said that participants were invited to see the various wonders of God’s creation as part of the process of building gratitude and awareness of life.
“We encourage young people to look at life more reflectively. Getting to know God can begin by observing the wonders of His creation. From there, a sense of gratitude and an awareness of the many things we need to preserve and give meaning to in life emerge,” he explained.
Furthermore, developing discipline is an important part of the activity. Participants are encouraged to maintain obligatory prayers and develop a habit of performing Tahajud prayers.
According to Kamil, this habit is not only related to worship routines, but also serves as a means of training consistency and personal responsibility.
“We want to build good habits. Discipline in obligatory prayers and practicing Tahajud are part of the process of cultivating consistency. Hopefully, this discipline will carry over into other activities, whether in study, work, or interacting with the community,” said Kamil.
