Teachers’ Forum – The Commonwealth Teachers’ Forum, organised in Mauritius alongside the 18th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (CCEM), opened Tuesday at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre at Bell-Village, near Port-Louis, the Mauritian capital. Addressing participants, Mauritian Education and Human Resources Minister, Vasant Bunwaree, urged teachers in the Commonwealth to share and communicate on various issues relating to good practice within the school environment.

He said the shortage of teachers, poor conditions of work and professionalism were the main constraints affecting the quality of education while referring to the emerging role of the teacher in the changing and new Education Order.
