Pro-Assad journalist killed in Damascus

A journalist working with Syria’s state-run SANA news agency has been killed in his residence just outside the capital Damascus. No further details are available at this moment.

There have been several attacks on pro-regime media over the course of Syria’s 17-month-old conflict which, according to the UN, has claimed an estimated 17,000 lives.

Saturday’s reports told about four Al-Ikhbariya TV channel staffers seized by gunmen in a Damascus suburb.
