In the backdrop of a 14-year-old Hindu girl’s abduction in Pakistan’s Jacobabad city in Sindh province three days ago, a controversy erupted when a delegation of 150 Hindus was detained by Islamabad for seven hours on Friday before being allowed to enter India for a pilgrimage. Head of the delegation Anup Kumar said they were supposed to cross over to India in the afternoon, but their arrival was delayed because the Pakistani authorities were apprehensive that they may not return due to the law and order problems in the southern province of Sindh, where most of Pakistan’s estimated seven million Hindus. Before leaving Pakistan, members of the delegation had to give an undertaking to the authorities that they would not seek asylum from the Indian government and would under all circumstances return to Pakistan within 30 days, Kumar said.

  1. Pakistanis are apt to do strange things. Under the Human Rights Code every person has a right to travel to any country he likes provided the country to which they are going permit him. The country, where he resides, may only stop him if there are any legal proceedings pending against him. How could these pilgrims be stopped by the illitrate officials on the plea that they may not come back and may apply for asylum. If Indian government allows then who are you to poke your nose. Mullah mentality pervails everywhere in this Holy Land.

  2. This post on Pakistani Hindu community members going to India with valid Pakistani passport/Indian visa, are being stopped at Wahga/Lahore border makes a painful reading. Alas! the country called Pakistan(land of the pure)has practically turned into Napakistan(land of not pure(but impure) people) by its own rulers, who are looked upon as the worst type of greedy rulers in the world. They are really the most irresponsible, unreliable, insincere, speak lies boldly, habitual in refuting/ contradicting their own statements, indulge in ‘loot-gasoot’ in shameless manner. The convicted ousted PM Gilani had no right, just before leaving his office, to give a chacque of $40000-00(equal to Rs.55 lacs to one bureaucrat Mr. Lashari for his unknown illness treatment expenses in UK and who is also involved in corruption case with the son of Gilani. Such things never happen or even imagined in other countries.Minorities in Pakistan had never been at ease right from the inception of this God-gifted state and it was due to this negative aspect of our mentality that the founder of Pakistan had to make his first speech before the members of the first National/ Constituent Assembly of Pakistan,on August 11, in which he had to make special references for the safety and security of all minorities to be equal citizens along with the religion based(muslim) majority. But our rulers, after the demise of the founder of Pakistan, forgot all what the Quaid-e-Azam had stood for or wanted to establish in future. Let it be made clear to all that things will go from worse to worst if the basic fundamental human rights of all Pakistanis, including Minorities ,are not practically restored, as equal citizens. The last touch-stone in this connection is to be seen if the members of the Ahmadiyya muslim community are given natural right to name their Faith/religion themselves and also allowed worship God Almighty according to their free will of human conscience and construct their places of worship they deem fit along with the right to use their political right of voting in general election with their own free will and with out reference to their religion or calling them as non-muslin minority for the voting purpose. In this way if things are given right direction and there is okay report from the Ahmadiyya community,it is only then that the Pakistan will start to get its shape and form as dreamed by the Founder of Pakistan, IhshaAllah.
