The bomb discovered at the farm Breivik had rented, some 85 miles north of Oslo, weighed up to 1.5 tonnes and was ready to use, military sources told broadcaster NRK.
In comparison, the bomb he set off outside government officers in Oslo, killing eight, weighed an estimated 0.95 tonnes. The Norwegian authorities did not respond to the report.
On July 27, police said they had found and destroyed explosives stored at the isolated farm, but did not provide any details on the quantity or what condition they were in when they were discovered.
