SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he does not expect any backlash from the United States if the Palestinians continue to push for statehood.
Speaking to reporters in Sarajevo Tuesday, Abbas said if the U.S. vetoes the bid at the United Nations Security Council in September, Palestinians will still continue cooperating with Washington as they do not want confrontation.
During his visit, Abbas lobbied for Bosnian support. Bosnia is currently a non-permanent member of the Security Council.
