Kingdom (of Jordan) recognises Libya rebels, to send envoy

AMMAN (JT) – Jordan will appoint a permanent envoy in Benghazi to boost its coordination with the Libyan Transitional National Council (TNC), seeking to achieve the goals of the Libyan people, a senior official said Tuesday.

During a telephone call with Mahmoud Jibril, representative for foreign affairs with the TNC, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh emphasised the importance of the continued coordination and contacts with the council to guarantee the optimal and safe flow of humanitarian and medical assistance from Jordan to Libya, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said.

Commending the TNC’s approach, Judeh said Jordan considers the council as the legitimate representative of the Libyan people. read more
