    Unfortunately all Islamic majority countries do not allow other religion to be thought in public school except Islam. It is not fair att all. I support all Government to ban all religions involve in public school.

    • wrong. In Jordan Christian students learn Christian religious knowledge and Muslim students learn Islamic religious knowledge.IN schools … (for instance).

  2. There should be no faith schools, only secular. If you want to teach children about any particular religion, this should be done either after school hours or at the weekends. In public schools children should be taught about all religions and philosophy as an extra subject.

    • I agree— Islamic clerics should be fair, because Islamic teaching promote justice for all. No discrimination base on religion and race. Are you with me Rafiq, Zia and Riffat?


  3. A good school is not just a knowledge factory or a conveyor belt for churning out exam passes – it is a community, a family. A community is held together by common values and principles.

    According to Lord Macaulay speech in the houses of Parliament on 2nd Feb 1835 “I have travelled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief, such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such calibre that I don’t think we would ever conquer this country unless we break the very backbone of this nation which is her spiritual and cultural heritage and, therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation”.

    According to Article 26 (3) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, “Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.” Nothing about “religion” or “culture.”

    According to the 1944 Education Act, children should be educated according to the needs and demands of their parents. The silent majority of Muslim parents would like to send their children to state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers. I set up the first Muslim school in 1981 in London now there are 188 Muslim schools and only 18 are state funded. I would like to see each and every Muslim child in a state funded Muslim school. I hope one day my dream would come true.

    Education Acts 1996 – Aims of National Curriculum
    ‘…promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the schools and of society and prepares pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experience of adult life.’

    Human Rights act 1998:
    Legally, the state has an obligation to respect the rights of parents to ensure that ‘education and teaching(of their children) is in conformity with their own religious and philosophical convictions.’

    The schools must satisfy the spiritual, moral, social,and cultural needs of Muslim pupils. State schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers are not in a position to satisfy their needs. Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no lace for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

    There is a conniving current agenda of the western governments towards Islam..Mr Cameron is using “muscular liberalism” a policy to “force” certain values down Muslims throats…the uk is a cunning fox, so it is doing this quietly and sneakily whilst France is doing it openly ad they banned minarets they banned niqaab, banned public praying,…and thereby placed indirect pressure on hijab, and pressure on Muslims to hide their Islam OR ELSE face violent threats from their agents EDL, or from public discrimination and hatred.

    So it was not only the terrorists they were warring against , but also Islam itself. The cunning British way is for Crusading David Cameron to preach the new message, that of a new prophet, the new British prime-minister version of Islam…in this version some major aspects of Islam have to be subverted.

    The demand for Muslim schools comes from parents who want their children a safe environment with an Islamic ethos. Parents see Muslim schools where children can develop their Islamic Identity where they won’t feel stigmatised for being Muslims and they can feel confident about their faith. Muslim schools are working to try to create a bridge between communities. There is a belief among ethnic minority parents that the British schooling does not adequately address their cultural needs. Failing to meet this need could result in feeling resentment among a group who already feel excluded. Setting up Muslim school is a defensive response. State schools with monolingual teachers are not capable to teach English to bilingual Muslim children. Bilingual teachers are needed to teach English to such children along with their mother tongue. According to a number of studies, a child will not learn a second language if his first language is ignored.

    Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school. Muslim children must develop their cultural, linguistic and spiritual identity before they are exposed to outside world, otherwise, they would be lost in western jungle.

    The Muslim community has been passing through a phase of fourth Crusades. The battleground is the field of education, where the young generation will be educated properly with the Holly Quran in one hand and Sciences in other hand to serve the British society and the world at large. A true Muslim is a citizen of the world, which has become a small global village. We are going to prepare our youth to achieve that objective in the long run. A true Muslim believes in Prophet Moses and the Prophet Jesus and without them one cannot be a Muslim. My suggestion is that in all state, independent and Christian based school special attention should be given to the teaching of Comparative Religion and Islam should be taught by qualified Muslim Teachers to make the children aware the closeness of Islam to Christianity and Judaism which will help them to think about Islam, as “A Pragmatic and Modern Way of Life,” during their life time.

    British schooling and the British society is the home of institutional racism. The result is that Muslim children are unable to develop self-confidence and self-esteem, therefore, majority of them leave schools with low grades. Racism is deeply rooted in British society. Every native child is born with a gene or virus of racism, therefore, no law could change the attitudes of racism towards those who are different. It is not only the common man, even member of the royal family is involved in racism. The father of a Pakistani office cadet who was called a “***” by Prince Harry has profoundly condemned his actions. He had felt proud when he met the Queen and the Prince of Wales at his son’s passing out parade at Sandhurst in 2006 but now felt upset after learning about the Prince’s comments. Queen Victoria invited an Imam from India to teach her Urdu language. He was highly respected by the Queen but other members of the royal family had no respect for him. He was forced to go back to India. His portrait is still in one of the royal places.

    A report by the Institute for Community Cohesion found that native parents were deserting some schools after finding their children out numbered by pupils from ethnic minorities. Schools in parts of England are becoming increasingly segregated. The study focused on 13 local authorities. Many of the schools and colleges are segregated and this was generally worsening over recent years. This is RACISM because British society is the home of institutional racism. My statement regarding Muslim schools where there is no place for non-Muslim child or a teacher is based on educational process and not on racism. Muslim children need Muslim teachers during their developmental periods. For higher studies and research, Muslim teacher is not a priority.

    The shocking level of targeting of the Muslim community of Birmingham is indicative of the normalisation of the dehumanisation of the Muslims of Britain. Under the pretext of “extremism”, criminal undemocratic and unethical abuse of public institutions and the Muslims of the UK can occur without much accountability. This pervasive attitude, especially amongst officials like Michael Gove needs to change. Our schools are truly trying to develop our children to do well at schools so later in life they are able to stand on their own two feet, but if we stop our schools from doing this than our country will have up rise of unemployment, benefit issues, crime levels high, I think its time for you apologize and allow practitioners to do their job right.

    Indiscipline, incivility, binge drinking, drug addiction, gun and knife crimes, teenage pregnancies and abortion are part and parcel of British schooling. These are the reasons why majority of Muslim parents would like to send their children to Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Only less than 5% attend Muslim schools and more than 95% keep on attending state and church schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers.

    There are hundreds of state primary and secondary schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion all such schools may be opted out to become Muslim Academies. This mean the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. Muslim schools give young people confidence in who they are and an understanding of Islam’s teaching of tolerance and respect which prepares them for a positive and fulfilling role in society. Muslim schools are attractive to Muslim parents because they have better discipline and teaching Islamic values. Children like discipline, structure and boundaries. Bilingual Muslim children need Bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods, who understand their needs and demands.

    We do not support Islamic school, wahhabi School, Salafi school, ahmadiyyah school, sufi school and Christian school, Yudaism school, Hindusm School and Buddhism school on and on in global society.

    Obviously religion devide community, but we need to unite community right?

    Religion create the extremist ( Jews, Christian, Islam and others). The extremist do not accept others belief fore sure! Extremist create conflict and war. As we see in Middle East and Europe history .

    In USA, there are many Christian school, Christian univeristy etc From here emerge the extremist Christian who hate other religion—then called Islamophobia.

    My suggestion is Government should unite people with universal value of religion that all people can accept it
    Such as: teach human right—respect and love each other—justice for all—help each other—respect parents and old people etc etc

    If you want to teach your kids with the specific value of your religion— teach at home or private school.

    This my opinion for peace, harmony, and happiness in global society.

  5. We have covered this subject before. Iftikara, you have gone to great length to put your point of view. But there is, of course, another side, some of which Somi covered. What you are suggesting would never be tolerated in any Muslim country. Muslims here in the UK and Europe are the most expanding group of people, and within several decades will dominate through birth rate and immigration, and we have cause to be concerned. Most of these people, naturally, choose to live among their own kind and communities, with their own cultures and languages. There are areas here in the UK which look like Pakistan or Bangladesh (the largest Muslim communities), where others are unwelcome. They are not interested in assimilation or even learning the language of the country they live in. Even services have to cater for their specific language requirements (and that doesn’t apply only to Muslims).

    An acquaintance recently asked me why I did not speak any Urdu, since I’m married to a Pakistani. I replied that there was no need to because I live in England. On the other hand, he and his wife have lived here for around 50 years, and his wife does not speak English, or not much.

    Fifty years ago there were few outsiders, now there are many. The newcomers like Poles and other Eastern Europeans are generally not identifiable as being different. They are happy to send their children to state schools, where they obtain a fairly rounded education. The children become naturally bi-lingual. Religion is a personal matter, and should not impact on their general lifestyle. There are other ways to teach ethics.

    Again, I would ask, why come to another country if you don’t want to fit in? We are experiencing Islamification on a large scale. Don’t be surprised if people are not happy about developments over only a few years. And it can only get worse, we are already seeing the signs here as well as in Europe.
