Yemen conflict: UN official warns of world’s biggest famine

Yemen faces the world’s largest famine in decades “with millions of victims” if aid deliveries are not resumed, a senior UN official has warned.

Mark Lowcock, the UN under-secretary general for humanitarian affairs, urged the Saudi-led coalition to lift its blockade of the conflict-torn country.

On Monday, the coalition shut air, land and sea routes into Yemen after Houthi rebels fired a missile at Riyadh.

The ballistic warhead was intercepted near the Saudi capital.

Saudi Arabia said the blockade was needed to stop Iran sending weapons to the rebels.

  1. Nauzubilah! Please speak up and demand Saudi to stop killing innocent people! Show the world that Muslim really care the WEAK and have to protect them from catastrophic.

    How bad Saudi ‘s policy toward millions innocent people is.
    Whereas God has warned Muslim or mankind:
    “Love your neighbor as you love your self, love your enrmy and pray to those who persecute you.”

    Hopefully Ahmafiyyah Muslim around the world can lead other Muslim to protest Saudi Arabia at Saudi Arabia embassy every country. This is good thing to do!
    If Ahmadiyyah cannot do protest around the world, that is very sad, very sad
