Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Religious Affairs Ministry is still studying the Ahmadiyya mosque closure by the Depok municipality administration.
“I cannot give any statement yet,” Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin said on Monday.
The Al-Hidayah mosque which is owned by the Indonesia Ahmadiyya Community (JAI) was sealed by the Depok Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) on Saturday. It has been the eighth closure since 2011.
“The closure could be protective or repressive,” the PPP polician said.
Ahmadiyya is a minority Muslim group in the country. It is a deviant sect according to the Indonesia Ulema Council (MUI).
