More than 130 imams and Muslim religious leaders from the UK and other Western countries have said they will refuse to perform funeral prayers for the London and Manchester attackers who “defile” the name of their religion — and urged fellow imams to “withdraw such a privilege.”
The leaders called the acts “cold-blooded murders”, and said they were “deeply hurt” that a spate of terror attacks had been committed in Britain by “murderers who seek to gain religious legitimacy for their actions.”
“We seek to clarify that their reprehensible actions have neither legitimacy nor our sympathy,” they said, adding they refuse to “perform the traditional Islamic funeral prayer over the perpetrators.”
It’s considered an unprecedented response from Muslim faith leaders from diverse backgrounds – including both Sunni and Shia imams.

It is a good move , but not the sufficient . Such barbaric acts can’t be said the act of an individual . Involvement of educated youth in such heinous crime is a matter of concern . Imams and sincere Muslims must review their faith . In the one hand they say that Islam doesn’t allow the murder of a innocent in the name of religion , on the other hand they are ready to cut the throat of that person who has left Islam or is considered a murteed . Which is true they should decide . In the one hand they say ” your religion is for you , mine is for me ( surah kaferoon ) , on the other hand that person who differs them in the interpretation of the Quranic word ” khatumannabbeen ” deserves death penalty . Which is true ? These imams are waiting for that Hazrat Issa who will give only two options to the kafirs , either they will embrace Islam or will be killed . Does this faith not open the door for violence and killing of kafirs ? When Hazrat Issa is supposed to make kafir- free world by sword , how can they condemn those who are doing the same pious job ? I am confused . How can I say that religion a true religion which has the above mentioned faith , Imams must clear this confusion . They must not hide their aqeeda . What I have written is wrong , they must announce that they don’t accept all these nonsense . Believe me , as they show their disagreement with the popular belief , that will be the last day of that terrorism which is called Muslim terrorism . Condemning individuals or boycott of some people will not solve the problem , that ideology which is creating and nourishing barbaric people , must be corrected . This is only solution .
