Police in India say two Muslim men have been lynched by a mob which accused them of trying to steal cows for slaughter.
The killings in the north-eastern state of Assam are the latest in a series of attacks blamed on religious tensions over the treatment of cows.
Hindus consider cows sacred and killing them is illegal in several states.
A Human Rights Watch report last week said at least 10 Muslims had been killed over the issue since May 2015.
The victims of Sunday’s attack in Assam’s Nagaon district have been identified as Abu Hanifa and Riyazuddin Ali, police said.

Mr. Imran khan must think over his statement which says that a blasphemer deserves death penalty . When a person who differs others in the interpretation of the Quranic teaching , deserves death penalty , what is wrong if others follow the same rule , After all , the cow is considered holy and worshipped by crores . It is really amazing that a person like Imran khan can give such irresponsible statement . Does it not open the door for violence and anarchy . Does he not aware of the fact that it is this ideology ( blasphemer deserves death penalty) which is making innocent and zealous Muslim youth , suicide bomber ? I am sure that Indian Imran khans have searched their blasphemy rule that in the name of cow , they can kill anyone . But there is one difference . Indian government , Indian political parties , Indian people and even hardliners are very mature and no one is accepting this bloodshed . Pakistani moulvies ( Indian moulvies , too ) , Muslims in general and Mr. Imran khan must learn from India .
