Germany exempts Islamic markets from taxes during Ramazan

BERLIN: Owners of Islamic markets and restaurants will be exempted from paying taxes during the month of Ramazan, a decision signed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to provide food at lower prices for Muslims.

  1. With all due respect, but this is complete nonsense. If one checks the originating source of Arabic Russia Today (RT), i.e. https://arabic.rt.com/news/826185, it could be realised that RT clearly states this to be unconfirmed information. Besides, the office of chancellor in Germany does not hold any executive power to exempt anyone or any registered body from taxes. At least on paper Germany is still a functioning constitutional democracy and not a banana republic.
