Algeria’s Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Mohamed Aissa, says in coming days he’ll work hard to prosecute the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community the Algerian Security Service have arrested last Friday for performing Friday prayers at a private villa. The arrests were made under the pretext of ‘public security’.
The Algerian Security Services arrested 20 members of the Ahmadiyya community in the city of Skikda last Friday, after the worshipers had performed Friday prayers in a private home.
According to a CNN report, Minister Aissa said in a press statement Tuesday that the Ministry has decided to pursue members of ‘this’ community [Ahmadiyyas] “to reduce such phenomena and to eliminate the deviation at its root.”
