HAYWARD – (SFO BAY AREA) B Street-based KURDWARA SAHIB Sikh temple hosted a dinner here at the Star King Unitarian Congregation for interfaith community at the screening of DIVIDE WE FALL a two-hour documentary that catalogs a backlash at the Sikh Americans targeted as Muslims for their attire and outlook.

After the sad accounts captured from various cities in the movies of violence and killings of several Sikh Americans I still couldn’t figure why in reality they were treated as Muslims as they are very distinctive in the attire and outlook for common Muslims not all of them clad in turban or salwar kurta or wear the beards as their Sikh brothers do.  Many felt the same way unable to underscore the true reasons because it sounds so outrageous to treat them as Muslims.

This is where great deal of education and information sharing is needed so that unnecessary hate, prejudices and bigotry against certain communities can be stemmed from the American society. The movie also focuses on actual Muslims targeted and killed in the after of 911 incident.

The truth as to how 911 was carried out have since unfolded quite conspicuously but look a likes of Osama Bin Ladin still continues to bug the minds of some Americans and aspirants of political offices fuel the hate against the Muslims.
