“Islam hates us,” Republican frontrunner Donald Trump said in a CNN interview. on Friday.
Mr Trump later stood by his claim in a televised debate in Miami, saying: “There is tremendous hatred, and I will stick with exactly what I said.”
It led to an outcry, with Senator Marco Rubio launching an impassioned defence of Muslims.
There are clearly some radical Muslims who despise the US and other Western countries – including those who carried out the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington.
But what of Donald Trump’s claim that Muslims in general hate the country?
No major polling agency has yet asked whether respondents “hate” America. However, several have measured broad sentiment among the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims.
The Pew Research Centre, which surveys global attitudes, said anti-Americanism was strong around the word around the time of the US invasion of Iraq.
However, currently there is little evidence of profound anti-American sentiment except for in a handful of countries, it says.
Bruce Stokes, director of global economic attitudes at Pew, says sentiment towards the US varies widely between Muslim-majority countries.
“We tend to see more negative sentiment among Muslims in the Middle East, such as those from Egypt and Jordan,” he says.

In Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim country, 62% of people hold a favourable opinion of the US, Pew’s latest data suggests.
That figure rises to 80% in Senegal, a country which is over 90% Muslim. Mr Stokes points out that this is a stronger approval rate than Germany.
“Attitudes have also been changing over time. We’ve seen a gradual rise in positive sentiment since President Barack Obama came to power,” Mr Stokes says.
“Even in the Palestinian Territories, where sentiment is 70% unfavourable, that’s an improvement on 82% in Barack Obama’s first year.”

As far as Islam is concerned , it teaches Nationalism and is against rebellion . ” Nationalism is an integral part of faith ” is a general principle of Islam . The holy Quran instructs that ” O ye who believes ! Obey Allah , and His Messengers and those who are in authority among you ” . In the presence of these guidelines , a true Muslim can not do any thing which is against his nation nor he can disobey his authorities . This is why a Muslim is supposed that he will not involved in those activities which are against the interest of his nation . A true Muslim can not go against the interest of his nation nor he can play with the rule of the land . It is but a fact .
Islam is a universal religion and its guidelines are same for all countries that is prosperous , developed and peaceful . It expects from the citizens of country that they be nationalist , law abiding , active participant in making his country most developed and most prosperous , and don’t be burden on the society and country . It expects from the rulers that their all efforts be for the welfare of people and they maintain the high standards of justice as according to the holy Quran ” let not a people’s enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice . Be always just , that is nearer to righteousness 5 / 9 ” .

In this case I agree with you that The true Islamic system is not the system like Saudi Arabia or Iran that they claim they are the true Islamic system or syariah law. But the fact is not. they do not protect the right religious minorities and other minorities.
The true Islamic system is Secular, where religions and state is separated–and government has to be neutral not take a side of religion. just like America.
America is the true Islamic system; Every religion has the right of freedom to worship their faith.
Allah bless America;

@ Syed Aftab Alam: May I ask a question? When was in the history of Islam in the last 1400 years, that there was an Islamic state whose laws were not derived from the Shariah? Could a non Muslim be the ruler of a Muslim country? Has it ever happened?
If not, then did the Muslims not understand the Quran for last 1400 years? Do we understand it better than the religious leaders of the past: for example, the imams of fiqah, or for that matter the first four khalifahs? Why did they not separate the religion from the state?
In the history of Islam , there were many rulers who followed the Shari’a . Best examples are hazrat Abu , hazrat Umar , hazrat Usman and hazrat Ali . There may be some more rulers . Actually it depends upon the religious condition of the ruler how much fear of ALLAH he has . When religion is played for vested interest or distorted religion becomes the way life , all problems begin . Nizame Mustafa is the only solution to resolve the miseries of mankind which is possible if we make ourselves like Mustafa SAW . Otherwise it will be like so called Islamic States of to day. On the other hand when we see the Islamic state under huzoor SAW and khulfa e Rashedeen , we find that every one had equal opportunity for his physical , mental , spiritual and financial growth . We find a society where both authority and religious leaders knew ” there is no compulsion in the matter of faith ” , ” your religion is for you, mine is for me ” , ” a Muslim is he from whose hands and tongue , others are safe ” , ” murder of one innocent is like the murder of entire humanity ” , ” And abuse not those whom they call upon besides Allah ” etc.. We see an environment of fraternity as huzoor SAW stood up to see a dead body and when was told that he was a Jew , he Saw replied ” was he not a human being ? ” . My dear C S. if any past Muslim ruler followed these and many other guidelines , they were certainly Islamic states . Mr. Ali yes, I also accept that governance of USA and European countries are much much better . As far as secular and religious states are concerned , it depends how honest you are in implementation . If any country is not secular , it can not be Islamic state .
Since our Allah is Rabbulalameen , it is difficult to believe that only Muslims are the most able people in the world ; and for the betterment of people , it is necessary that they are ruled by the most able people . There are many Muslim business houses whose business are headed by non – Muslims . We should not consider the affairs of state as religious affairs . We should elect the most able person . If there is man like hazrat Umar , there is nothing wrong in mixing the religion with the state .
@ Syed Aftab Alam: Please answer the question. In the last 1400 years name one country with majority Muslims where the government was secular.
It is easy to talk in vague terms. If every body was perfect the government will be perfect too. If every body was like the Prophet everything will be fine.
Let me tell you few things about the perfect people of your imagination. Do you know that in the time of the Prophet there were many Muslims who were caught and punished for theft, rape, adultery and murder etc. In the time of the first four khulafa Muslims were committing and punished for these crimes too. Three out of four khulafa were murdered. The so called glorious period of Islam was filled with internal strife and division. The empire came to an end within thirty two years of the passing of the Prophet.
These were the Muslims that you and the others like you wish to emulate. Do you really want to live in a state like that. They knew Quran better than any one else. Yet they could not govern with peace. This is when their followers were also “Sahaba-e-Karam”. So is that what is called an Islamic way of governing.
Understand that God did not mention everything in the Quran. There is lot of knowledge out there which is not mentioned in the Quran. So learn it from those who know. Stop pretending that you don’t need worldly knowledge. And stop dreaming about he sixth century Arabia. Come in the present and look to the future. Do not look back or you will turn into a worthless stone.
