A coalition of aid groups including Oxfam and Save the Children has accused the United Nations Security Council, particularly Russia and the US, of failing to protect the people of Syria.

The ‘Failing Syria’ report said the supplying of arms to opposition and regime forces had undermined attempts to deliver emergency aid, fuelled violence, and worsened a civil war thought to have claimed the lives of 220,000 Syrians since March 2011.
