Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the Joint Meeting of Congress:

“The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel are rooted in our shared values, our common ideals and mutual interests.  Ours is a deep and abiding friendship that will always reach beyond party. Americans stand shoulder to shoulder with the Israeli people.  The state of Israel stands as the greatest political achievement of the 20th century, and the United States will always have an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security.

“That is why, as one who values the U.S. – Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech – saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.

“Today, Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated something we all agree upon: a nuclear armed Iran is unacceptable to both our countries.  We have all said that a bad deal is worse than no deal, and stopping the spread of nuclear weapons is the bedrock of our foreign policy and national security.  As President Obama has said consistently, all options are on the table for preventing a nuclear-armed Iran.”

  1. It is time to proclaim that the United States of America is the protege of Israel and not vice versa. I have never seen a so called superpower so powerless in front of one of the tiniest country of the world.

    Elephant in the room;
    The Oxford English Dictionary gives the first recorded use of the phrase, as a simile, as The New York Times on June 20, 1959: “Financing schools has become a problem about equal to having an elephant in the living room. It’s so big you just can’t ignore it.”[3]

    “Elephant in the room” or “Elephant in the living room” is an English metaphorical idiom for an obvious truth that is either being ignored or going unaddressed. The idiomatic expression also applies to an obvious problem or risk no one wants to discuss.[2]

    It is based on the idea that an elephant in a room would be impossible to overlook.

    As an ultimate prove that there are no limits to what can be made out of a uncut square piece of paper he plans to fold a life-size replica of an elephant. Over the course of several weeks the monumental sculpture will be folded at the Art Museum in Beromünster, Switzerland. A team of three assistants will support him on this mission.

  3. It was refreshing to observe Nancy Pelosi’s comments on Netanyahu’s condescending speech. It is beyond belief how Netanyahu address’s the American establishment with disdain! … Either the lawmakers of White House are so stupid that its normal to talk to them in this way or Isreali prime minister is so arrogant that he see’s everyone as subhuman ! Or that the White house is the genie kept in a bottle to be commanded by Isreal! Either way, it’s a shame that the USA is being dictated by the most evil government on earth!

  4. Israel is not only controlling and dictating to the US but also the UN and all its branches. It was Israel who suggested for the creation of a five paernanent members in the security council and made sure that they are all pro-israeli.
    The US is under Israel and US is afraid if they deny Israel, the Israelis will turn to the Russian Federation and there are Zionist at the top of every department in US and the UN. It is as if the US under blackmail by the Israelis. Something is not right with this freindship.
    It is said vie with one another in goodness but not in evil but the US continues to vie in evil with Israel.
    But when you go back in history, it was the Saudi King who vowed that he does not mind given the whole of Palestine to the British which ended up being Israel. The problem was created by Saudi Arabia and that is why America and Britain will always support Israel in its wickedness towards the Palestinians. It is as if to say, don’t blame us it is because you don’t know the history, blame your so called Saudi brothers of the past. But most Arabs Palestinians do not read the history of the creation of Israel.
