Ahmadiyya Muslim families invite community into their homes to clear misconceptions

Over the next two weeks Waseem Kaleem and his family will open their doors for people to visit and see what a Canadian Muslim family is like.

“We’re always happy to welcome people in our communities and our neighbourhoods,” Kaleem said. “We just want to clear that notion of any fear-feeling in the minds of people — we’re the same people.”

Kaleem’s invitation is part of the two-week Meet a Muslim Family campaign, which kicked off Sunday. Canadian Muslim families from coast to coast are inviting people to their homes and mosques.

  1. Muslim community should really step up and take responsibility of some of the things that are happening around the word that cause for people to dislike them.
Well said Gloria Turner. Exactly this is what Ahmadiyya has started. Relative to global Muslim strength it is very tiny community. However its supreme head as well other members in all the countries strive round the clock to express and propagate the true teachings of Islam. Due to built in Muslim hatred in media, hardly any well known media outlet notices the activities of Ahmadiyya. Anti Islamic activities performed by so called Muslims remain high lighted and get 24 hours coverage. So this image that Muslims are not doing enough is not ocrrect. Truth is, the positive acts of Muslims do not get deserved media coverage.
