Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Bangalore Donates Vital Equipment to Pediatric Dept of Cancer Institute on the Occasion of India’s Republic Day
Continuing with the tradition of “Service To Mankind”, the Bangalore chapter of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has donated vital equipments worth 1.1 Lakh Rupees to the Pediatric Department of Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, in an effort to fight Cancer among Children.

More than 100 underprivileged children between the ages of 4-14, suffering from various forms of Cancer are under treatment at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology. Representatives of the Jamaat contacted the doctors at the institute and discussed with them their requirements in their efforts to treat the children.
Based on the requirements and budget the members of the Jamaat donated generously and acquired the following equipment:
- 1 O2 Concentrator Double Flow:
Machine that intakes atmospheric Air and supplies pure Oxygen to the Patients. 2 Patients at a time can simultaneously use this. This machine worth 45,000/- Rupees and can be used many number of times for many years. - 20 sets of Bone Marrow Biopsy Needles:
Bone marrow biopsy is the removal of marrow from inside bone. Bone marrow is the soft tissue inside bones that helps form blood cells. It is found in the hollow part of most bones. Used to treat Children suffering from Leukemia (Blood Cancer). Each set worth 1,300/- Rupees - 100 sets of Chemo Port Needles:
During the treatment of Children by Chemotherapy, it becomes difficult and often stressful for the child to find the veins to inject. This small device is planted within the child’s skin connected to a vein. As and when the Chemotherapy dosage needs to be administrated it can be easily injected via this Port needle. Each set worth 300/- Rupees.
On the occasion of India’s Republic Day, 15 representatives of the Jamaat including Amir Jamaat Musaddiq Ahmad Sb and Mubaligue Silsila Mv. Kaleem Khan Sb assembled at the Ahmadiyya Masjid, offered prayers and left for the Hospital.
The team had a good meeting at the hospital’s seminar hall with the Director Dr. K B Linge Gowda, Dr. Appaji the HOD of the Pediatric Department and other senior doctors. Portion of the Holy Quran in English was recited, then Amir Sb and others introduced the Jamaat and its efforts around the world in the service of Humanity.
We also talked about Huzoor(atba)’s efforts in promoting Peace in societies around the world.
Huzoor (atba)’s book “World Crisis and Pathway to Peace” and the Life of Muhammad(saw) were then presented to the Director and all Doctors who attended the program.
The team then visited each of the 100 children in their wards and handed the Indian National Flag and gave away packets of gifts which contained toys, stationary and sweets which brought a lot of cheer among the little ones.
