Duke University’s sudden decision to cancel the Muslim call to prayer, adhan, from the chapel bell tower came as a blow to many Muslims who saw the university’s original gesture to allow the moderately amplified chant as a sign of pluralism. It was especially a welcome step in the midst of growing unrest in some parts of the Muslim world and in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo attacks by extremists who belonged to the Islamic faith. After the university got a barrage of emails and phone calls from supporters who objected to the allowance of the adhan, on Thursday, Duke reversed its original decision. The public also voiced their opinions on the university’s Facebook page where the posters made it clear that since America was founded on Judeo-Christian values,Islam doesn’t have a place in its history. Some of the comments were very harsh and used graphics showing the barbarism of groups such as, ISIS and generalizing that all Muslims are terrorists. One poster wrote, “…Just give all our beliefs and religion holy temples to the Muslims and turn our churches over to become Mosques. REALLY.”

Sad
Were they on drugs when that infamous decision was taken?
I assume Namelee means the infamous decision to reverse the permission for the call to prayers
The problem with assumptions is that they are quite often baseless.
My reference was to the decision which has now been rescinded. Had it been left in place, it would have amounted to what the Patriarch of Jerusalem said in Greek when Umar entered the Holy Temple: “THE ULTIMATE DESECRATION WHICH DANIEL, THE PROPHET, PROPHESIED–“.
All those who contributed to that act of infamy should be booted out of the institution.
It is difficult to imagine what chaos would follow any suggestion that a church bell be rung from a minaret.
