  1. Here is my take in a few words:

    Not abusing religious figures all comes under the umbrella of respect of fellow human beings. Respect is solely a moral quality and thus should not be enshrined under State law. (e.g. It is not criminal to lie, but to tell the truth is a moral quality).

    Thus Charlie Hebdo should have the right to publish whatever they want, satiring religion. BUT, should be discouraged from doing so in the same way we teach our children not to lie, with love.

    The Prophet never instituted a law against the those who mocked at him.
