India celebrates 14th November — the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru as Children’s day every year. It is a tribute to its first Prime Minister who is lovingly called as ‘Chacha Nehru’ which means Uncle Nehru by the kids. Jawaharlal Nehru gave significatly emphasized giving love & affection to children, who are the bright future of India. The main purpose of this day is to encourage the welfare of children all over the country.
As Islam teaches to loyalty to motherland the Lajna Imillah (Women’s Wing)’s Khidmath-e-Khalq Department of Shimoga Branch (Karnataka, India), on the Eve Of Children’s Day Celebrations this year, decided to help disabled Children by distributing Blankets to them.
As the early winter started in South India, The Lajna Imillah realized that there are many needy of warm blankets, hence with the guidance & instructions of Sadar Lajna Immillah Shimoga meeting between the Majlis Aamila, Dayeen Illallah and Sec-Khidmath-e –khalq, the community collected funds to purchase and then donate the blankets to the needy. The decision went in favor of MATRU CHAYA ORPHANAGE Ashram, an N.G.O who take care of disabled children in the city.
The preparations started with the hard work of self inspired volunteers of Lajna and their Aamila (Working Committee) along with dayeen illallah.
On 14th November a team of voulenteers along with Sadar Lajna & Aamila members along with dayeen Illallah offered Magrib & Isha Prayers and left to Matru Chaya the orphanage. A small session initiated with Nazm in regional language (kannada) which was followed by a brief introduction of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat & Humanity First to the attendees. And then the Blankets were distributed among the orphan Childrens. The Smiles and excitement was unforgettable for us and gave a satisfaction for our effort.
Mrs Suhana Rao the Guardian of Matru Chaya & Her Staff Expressed their gratitude and Jamaath taking social responsibility and appreciated the fact that jamaat is indulged with great humanitarian works.
The book “The World Crisis and Pathway to Peace” and few literatures were also distributed
