Epigraph:
There should be no compulsion in religion. Surely, right has become distinct from wrong; so whosoever refuses to be led by those who transgress, and believes in Allah, has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (Al Quran 2:257)

ISLAMABAD: Taking suo motu notice of the killing of a Christian couple in Kot Radha Kishan on November 4, the Supreme Court on Saturday directed the provincial government of Punjab to submit a report within three days.
Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk took suo motu notice of the Kot Radha Kishan incident in which a Christian couple was allegedly beaten to death by a mob and their bodies were burnt in a brick kiln on allegations of blasphemy.

CJ Nasirul Mulk has directed the Punjab government to present a report within three days over the incident.

End result will speak if justice provided to innocents.
Supreme Court took notice after 17 days, rather late. Perhaps SC gave time to government to take necessary action and when nothing was being done, SC had to come forward.
What the court can do in the face of bad constitution, bad laws. The Court is not the Master (Maalik). There are judges in the court who have been given the necessary (bad) guidelines by the legislature.
There was an old story about a village well in which a dog fell and the water of that well became impure (Najas). The maulvis were arguing (debating) about how many pails of water should be taken out to make the water pure (Halaal).
So the people got busy drawing out the dirty water.
But nobody cared about the dog which was still in the well.
They should also examine the root causes of religious intolerance and restore some sanity in the religious landscape of Pakistan.
I think the court could benefit from our extensive collection on the subject of Separation of Mosque-Church and State.
How is this case different from the Gujranwala burning case?
Every institution is now corrupt. I have lost faith in their ability to choose anything good.
You are right. They don’t have ability to think right.
No one in Pakistan speaks when innocent Ahmadis are murdered or burnt, but when any Christian is harmed then on pressure from outside sources some belated ineffective statements are made which results in nothing. The Authorities are not only corrupt but are sold out to the bigoted mullahs. Foreign Powers should cut out any financial aid to Pakistan unless they do something to protect the minorities. Starting with the removal of Blasphemy Laws and other laws restricting the Human rights.
Like the church was not satisfied with making Jesus the begotten son of God, the church went ahead with making Jesus the only begotten son of God.
Here also, the Mullas first advised imprisonment for blasphemy. Once that law was enacted, they advanced further to make law of death penalty for the blasphemers.
In a country where no one can give true witness, and witnesses are available just for a fee of Rs. 10/-, what use is having any punishment for anything, and specially such harsh punishment of death which is not mentioned any where in the Quran. Does it mean that Allah forgot that important matter?
How bad of Jama’at Islami (J.I.) and other Muslim organizations to be active on that matter. Now, again, after the demise of Maudoodi sahib, the head of the JI is making a call for Jihad with weapons. How bad!
When I was working in Pakistan (1965-1969) I was involved in a (commercial) court case. Just for my information I asked our Security Officer what he will say in court when asked to testify: He sort of saluted me and said: “Whatever you say, Sir”. (did not even cost 10 Rupees). (I told him to say just the simple truth…)
“The Dog in the Well” is the perfect example of current miserable condition of Pakistan. I recently read one article published in Nawa ai waqt”KalmaKi Hurmat.” What happened to a peron who murdered a Kafif(disbeliever)even though he recited Kalma ai Shahadat.Regardless Ahmadis are true or false, the amendment about Ahmadis in constitution is “The Dog in the Well.” It MUST be removed to save the dying country.
