Members of Ahmadi Muslims Dundee will travel to London next weekend to hear an address by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
The Khalifa is to deliver his speech condemning extremism at the 11th National Peace Symposium at the Baitul Futuh mosque.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Caliphate has been in existence for more than 100 years and the symposium, entitled Khilafat, Peace and Justice, brings together faiths, denominations and cross-party delegates to discuss the issue of Khilafat and its role.
Mr Ahmad said: “The horrific acts of extremists trouble us greatly, not only because of their barbaric cruelty but also because they defame the name of Islam. As Muslims it is our duty to remind people of the true and peaceful nature of Islam.”
