Fire at Grand Mosque in Mecca leaves 14 injured

Three were hospitalized after a fire broke out in scaffolding.

A fire broke out on Wednesday night at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Islam’s holiest site, leaving 14 people injured.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority spokesperson Abdullah al-Ghamdy confirmed that three injured people were transferred to hospital while other 11 received first-aid treatment.
Several news sources said the fire reported that the fire, which started in the wooden scaffolding at the mosque’s expansion area, was quickly contained.
