Upon arrival in Wiesbaden, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad was warmly welcomed to the city by the Lord-Mayor, Sven Gerich.

The formal session began with a welcome address given by Abdullah Wagishauser, the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Germany. He informed that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Wiesbaden was established in 1990 and had been in search of an appropriate site to build a Mosque for over two decades. Thereafter, visiting dignitaries took to the stage to offer their congratulations to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Hans Peter-Schickel, Deputy President of the City Parliament said:

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community continues to serve the local community in an excellent fashion. You always make it clear that Islam is a religion of peace and against all forms of extremism.

Joseph Dreiseitel, Secretary of State Ministry for Social Affairs & Integration, Hessen State Parliament said:

I am very happy to be able to attend this very significant event and wish to convey my congratulations to you all… I am very confident that from this Mosque peace will spread in the world.

The keynote address was then delivered by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad who said it was imperative that the people of all religions and backgrounds were able to live side by side in peace and harmony and that this had always been the message and belief of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

He added that it was the responsibility of the local Ahmadi Muslims to respond to any fears or misconceptions about Islam amongst the local community by highlighting its true and peaceful teachings.

The Khalifa said that the way to win people’s hearts was through love and compassion. Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

We, Ahmadi Muslims, do not hate anyone, but to those who oppose us or hate us we respond only with love and prayers because that is what the Quran has taught.

Addressing the non-Ahmadi guests, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

Having now seen and heard our message, I would request our guests to help us by reassuring others who may still hold reservations about Islam. You have seen for yourselves that our message is only of peace and compassion towards all people.

Speaking about the new Mosque, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

When this Mosque is built you will come to witness that true Mosques are not a place to spread evil or hatred, but rather serve only to spread peace, love and unity throughout the world.

As the city of Wiesbaden is famous for its hot water springs, one of the guests had earlier presented His Holiness with a pitcher of its local water. Commenting upon the gift Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

Water is a sign of life and it is because we have sipped the heavenly water given to us by the Promised Messiah that we Ahmadi Muslims are motivated to spread peace, love and spiritual light to all corners of the world.

Following his address, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad laid the foundation stone for the Mubarak Mosque.

The respected wife of His Holiness, Hazrat Amtul Sabooh Begum also laid a stone and thereafter a number of Central, National and Local Ahmadi Muslim officials also laid stones. Three visiting non-Ahmadi dignitaries also laid stones.

The event concluded with a silent prayer led by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.  Before departing, His Holiness distributed chocolates to the local Ahmadi Muslim children.
