400 gather at Chino Mosque to celebrate life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad

Life of the Holy Prophet event at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's Mosque in Chino CA on Sun Jan 26th 2014

More than 400 men, women and children of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Southern California gathered at the Baitul Hameed Mosque on Ramona Ave. in Chino on January 26th to celebrate their revered and beloved Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhamad Mustefa (peace and blessings of God be upon him). The program highlighted the exemplary and praiseworthy life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and featured speeches, and an Urdu Poem and a selection from the Qaseedah, an Arabic poem by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (the Promised Messiah; 1835-1908) in loving praise of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).

Asim Ansari, president of the L.A. Inland Empire chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, explained the importance of Seerat-un-Nabi (Life of the Prophet) Day and the history of this day in Islam. He also informed participants that on a national level, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is organizing over 72 programs across America. These programs will focus on the life and legacy of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) with an emphasis on communicating this to the younger generation.

Two young participants shared stories from the early life of the Holy Prophet (pbuh), discussing his relationships with his family and friends and how the high moral excellences of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) that would later shine as brilliant beacons of righteousness to millions of later Muslims, were already in evidence as a young man. They reminded attendees that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) lived a very pious and pristine life long before he announced his Prophethood.

One speaker informed the audience about the importance of Darood (conveying blessings) upon the Holy Prophet (pbuh). The saying of Darood upon the Holy Prophet (pbuh) is a remedy to bring blessings into one’s own life; and it is an important prayer to achieve harmony and peace. The Chaste and Immaculate Domestic life of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) was also shared with the participants. His beautiful and loving 25-year relationship with his first wife, Khadija (ra) was emphasized.

A group of young girls recited a lovely Urdu poem describing the beautiful character of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and how, with his perfect example of living the teachings of the Holy Quran, he brought about a moral, social and spiritual revolution in Arabia. Later, an Arabic Poem, written by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to describe his immense love for his Master and Chief, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), was recited by Dr. Ali alBuraki. an Arabic-speaking member of the Syrian chapter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

At the end of the program, Imam Shamshad Nasir discussed the teaching of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). The Imam emphasized the importance of ablution (ritual, pre-prayer cleansing) and its positive effects on Salat (congregational prayer) and human nature He also advised all members for congregational salat and coming to Masjid for Prayers.Imam  mentioned some of the teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammad peace be on him that the one who does not recognize the rights of Elders and does not show Mercy on younger one, is not among us, Imam also explained that True salvation can not be achieved with out following Prophet Mohammad Peace be on him.

A full-course lunch, cooked and served by the volunteers of the community, was enjoyed by all attendees and event participants. The program ended with the combined Zuhr and Asr Salat, the mid-afternoon and late-afternoon congregational prayers in Islam.
